7 Remote Work-Friendly Cafes in Nashville, TN
If there’s one thing Nashville has a lot of, it’s food. In fact, one of my favorite aspects of living in Nashville is the foodie element. At any given time, in almost any neighborhood, you can find great spots to dine and enjoy the local culture.
And the coffee scene is no different. If you’re looking for a great place in Nashville where you can go for a good latte and a comfortable atmosphere, we’ve put together a list of the best places to work remotely in Nashville. This is by no means an exhaustive list—just some personal favorites that I think you’ll love, too!
7. The Horn
The Horn is one of the more unique food experiences you can have in Nashville. The outside may look industrial, but the inside is big and homey with a bistro feel. This Somali cafe is family-owned and operated. Their menu offers breakfast sambusas, pastries, and my favorite dirty chai in Nashville.
Location:
619 Murfreesboro Pike
Nashville TN 37210
6. Matryoshka Coffee
Matryoshka Coffee is small but mighty. The owner decided to make the cafe she wanted but didn’t see (in spite of having virtually no cafe experience!). This little restaurant is a shop within a shop—a cafe nestled inside a coffee technician business. In other words, it’s a bit like a Russian nesting doll: a Matryoshka!
This 960-square foot spot is the perfect cozy place to sip, eat, and binge on color. Not only is the coffee fun and ever-changing, but this restaurant prides itself on being a safe space for all. (Just remember to bring your laptop fully charged, since this little cafe doesn’t have outlets.)
Location:
370 Herron Dr #4
Nashville, TN 37210
5. proper bagel
This may be controversial to say, but I’ve always thought of the south as the superior food region in the US. The only food we’re truly missing (and I do mean missing) is quality bagels.
Luckily, proper bagel was created by New Yorkers with decades of bagel-making experience. These bagels are made fresh, and the restaurant is located in a cute, walkable area.
While you can get any number of sandwiches or salads here, I love to grab an assortment of flavored bagels, a few containers of homemade cream cheese, and a coffee. My neighbor says the bagels freeze well, but I wouldn’t know—they never last very long at my house.
Location:
2011 Belmont Blvd
Nashville, TN 37212t
4. Crema
Crema is a longtime Nashville favorite with locations downtown and in East Nashville. They pride themselves on being responsible in their sourcing, partnering, and product. This is the perfect place to go for a strong cup of coffee.
Downtown location:
15 Hermitage Ave
Nashville, TN 37210
East Nashville location:
226 Duke St
Nashville, TN 37207
3. Pinewood Social
While bachelorettes know Pinewood Social as a religious pilgrimage destination (thanks to its bowling alley and small pool), locals know Pinewood as a nice place to go during the workday. With a Crema coffee menu, brunch, lunch, dinner, and cocktails, Pinewood is a relaxed place to work remotely. Grab a cozy chair or coffee to-go, and don’t forget to ask the host to validate your parking!
Location:
33 Peabody St
Nashville, TN 37210
2. Dozen Bakery
After starting as a pop-up, Dozen Bakery became a Nashville staple in 2015. This wonderful restaurant offers delicious breads, pastries, sandwiches, and more. They also supply many Nashville restaurants, empowering the local community. I love to buy a loaf of sourdough and one of their truly incredible sandwiches whenever I can.
Location:
516 Hagan Street
Suite 103
Nashville 37203
2. Fido
If you frequented Hillsboro Village a decade ago, it would likely be unrecognizable to you today. This thriving part of town may have developed a lot over the years, but there are a couple of things that remain the same. One of those things is Fido.
Fido is the dog-themed shop that sells coffee and sandwiches. Stop in, walk around the neighborhood, and maybe catch a movie at the historic Belcourt Theater.
Location:
1812 21st Ave S
Nashville, TN 37212
Frothy Monkey
Another Nashville legend, Frothy Monkey has a long history of caffeinating middle Tennessee. Frothy Monkey’s coffee is sustainably sourced, and they now have locations all over the state.
You can hit up Frothy Monkey for coffee, brunch, dinner, or beers with friends. You can even make an appointment to visit the Frothy Monkey Roasting Co.
